Hair Relaxer Cancer Lawsuit Against L’Oréal & Revlon Moves Forward After Judge’s Ruling

The products, which contain chemicals to permanently straighten textured hair, are typically marketed to women of color.

A federal judge on Monday ruled that the majority of claims can move forward in a sprawling lawsuit alleging that chemical hair relaxer products made by L'Oreal USA, Revlon and others cause cancer and other injuries.   According to Reuters, US District Judge Mary Rowland of the Northern District of Illinois denied most of the companies' arguments to dismiss the complaint in the multidistrict litigation over the products.
